Water Requirements of Wheat Crops in a Small Watershed by Using CROPWAT

A study was conducted to determine the water demand of wheat crops in area around Tonna Pumping Canal. It used 2017-2018 climate data need for CROPWAT. Reference crop evapotranspiration (ETo) determined using FAO Penman Monteith method. When considering crops, four stages growth were considered: early stage, development mid-maturity, and late-maturity stages. Crops planted 2017 rabi season yields each.This shows that baseline ranges from 1.48 3.98 mm/day. Crop (ETc) ranged 0.44 3.75 mm/day 1.9 39.8 The maximum 0.13 l/s/ha or 1.1 with 65% efficiency. irrigation estimated at about 27.93 mm/day, actual intake 81,000.29 m3. canal can therefore provide a convenient supply needed irrigate area.
